Use the Internet to learn what the problem could be. You may find that it is an easy to repair problem that you can do on your own. This could save you a small fortune in auto repair.
It is not legal for a mechanic to start working on your car before you officially authorize them to do so, usually by signing a contract. Trust your gut when choosing a VW mechanic. The employees at the auto repair shop should look you in the eye, make you feel comfortable, answer any questions you have clearly and provide any pricing information you request. A shop that fails to meet these basic requirements probably does not have your best interest at heart.
Don’t agree to any service or give a mechanic access to your vehicle until you are absolutely clear on costs and labor. The information you need should be clearly posted in an honest auto repair shop. If it’s not, proceed with caution and ask enough questions to learn exactly how much you will be charged.
Sound proofing can be expensive, especially for Volkswagen vans. The material & fitting is the most important and poor quality material wll lead to very poor results. The best kits I have seen on the market is from a company called Delux; they are excellent, I have included a few of their YouTube videos below & I personally have bought their VW T5 Sound Deadening kit & it comes very highly recommended.
